Current situation of pcb industry

Benefiting from the support of new terminal products and new markets, the global PCB markethas successfully recovered and grown. According to the Hong Kong Circuit Board Association (HKPCA), the global PCB market is expected to grow smoothly in 2011, with growth of 6-9% and 9-12% in China. Taiwan Research Institute of Industry and Technology (IEK) analysis report forecast that the global output value of PCB in 2011 will increase by 10.36%, the scale of 41.615 billion dollars. According to Prismark analysis data and Industrial Securities research and development center issued a report shows that the PCB application structure and product structure changes reflect the future development trend of the industry. With the decline of output value of single/double panel and multilayer board, the increase of output value of HDI board, sealing and loading board and soft board indicates that the growth of HDI board, packaging board and soft board applied in computer motherboard, communication backplane, automotive board and other fields is relatively slow, while the HDI board, packaging board and soft board applied in high-end mobile phones, laptops and other "thin and short" electronic products will maintain rapid growth.

North America

According to the IPC, the book-to-bill ratio for North American PCB manufacturers overall was 0.95 in February 2011, meaning that for every $100 of products shipped in the month, only $95 worth of new orders were received. B/B value was below 1 for the fifth consecutive month, indicating that the industry economy in North America has not recovered substantially.

Japan

· The Japanese earthquake affected the supply of some PCB raw materials in the short term, which was conducive to the transfer of production capacity to Taiwan and the mainland in the medium and long term

· High-end PCB manufacturers are accelerating production expansion in the mainland, and it is a general trend to transfer technology, production capacity and orders to the mainland

· Taiwan's China Times reported that PCB board manufacturers in China and South Korea will be big winners from the disruption of the Japanese supply chain

Taiwan

· Analysts from Taiwan Institute of Industrial Research (IEK) pointed out that, benefiting from the overall global economic recovery and consumption support from emerging countries, Taiwan's PCB industry is expected to grow by 29% in 2011. Global production capacity will be further transferred to China. Will enter a period of rapid growth. By 2014, China's printed circuit board industry will account for 41.92% of the world's total.

Printed circuit board PCB this year three major kinetic energy

According to a survey conducted by the Taiwan Circuit Board Association (TPCA) on business conditions in the first half of this year, printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturers believe that market and customer growth, the development of new markets, and the launch of new products and technologies remain the three most important factors contributing to their growth momentum.

On the other hand, the negative growth mainly comes from the decrease of customer demand, high level of trade competition, price competition and low gross profit margin. At the same time, the control and evaluation of labor and material costs are also important elements.

TPCA said that from the analysis of the survey results, PCB growth and decline factors are consistent with market demand, indicating the importance of strategic layout and innovative research and development in the market channel.

TPCA observed that PCB industry in the past two years heavily relied on consumer products, such as smart phones, tablets, etc. However, due to product saturation and slow market demand growth recently, the supply chain inventory has been affected. The future growth momentum of most players depends on the rise of mainland brands and the development of new markets.

According to IEK research data, the estimated output value of Taiwan PCB in 2013 was NT $505.7 billion, a decline of 1.88% compared to 2012. However, under the moderate recovery of the global economy, if the market sales of electronic products can be boosted, PCB industry growth is still promising.

At the same time, the output value of global public cloud and cloud services is expected to grow significantly in 2014, and will become one of the important growth businesses in the overall ICT market. Factors such as the rise of Chinese mainland brands ZTE, Huawei, Lenovo, Coolpad, Xiaomi and other brands will provide PCB industry with relevant supply chain demand. TPCA believes that the driving effect can still be observed.

TPCA believes that in 2014, if Taiwan PCB enterprises want to break the stagnation and promote growth, they are bound to return to market differentiation and new product innovation. For example, wearable devices, automotive electronics, etc., are also the key elements of how PCB enterprises can promote market growth in the competitive electronic ecosystem.
